Sulaeman displayed superb long potting and break building skills and despite having played all day looked fresh and relaxed. Rudy has now become only the sixth player ever to win this event. 87 players entered. Sulaeman got off to a good start making a break of 45 at his first scoring visit, winning the first frame comfortably 80-17. In the second frame it looked like Foldvari was about to level the score but he broke down on a 46 break and played safe. With the cue-ball tight to the bottom cushion, Rudy smacked in a blistering long red to create a great chance for himself and fashioned a frame winning clearance to forge 2-0 ahead. In the third frame Sulaeman again found himself with the cue-ball on the baulk rail and yet again he nailed another long red from distance to compile a 97 frame winning break and go into a 3-0 lead. In the last frame, Sulaeman made the most of his few chances and with two or three medium-sized contributions left Foldvari requiring four snookers. Highest break of the tournament went to Roger Leighton with 102. Jason Dalitz won the Consolation Plated defeating Daniel Thorp in the final.
